When & How We Fund

GRANTS APPLICATION PROCESS AND SCHEDULE FOR 2020

Here is the list of important deadlines to be considered for a 2020 grant:

June 17, 2019

Our on-line application system is available to apply for a grant.

July 12, 2019

Letter of Inquiry (LOI), the first step in the application process, is due. LOI’s received after this date will not be considered for 2020 grants.

August 12. 2019

Applicants will be notified if they are invited to submit full grant application requests.

September 13, 2019

Full grant application requests due from invited applicants. Applications received after this date will not be considered for 2020 grants.

March 2020

Grants will be awarded.

 

Additional Notes:

Grants Committee members may schedule on-site visits to your organization to discuss your application or to follow-up on a prior year grant, if applicable.

Applicants MUST notify the Foundation if there are any changes to the grant request after the proposal is submitted by September 13, 2019 and before November 1, 2019.

Upon completion of our fundraising in late January, all applicants submitting complete grant requests will be notified of the Foundation’s decisions and grants.

PRIORITIES & PROCESS

In determining the merits and priority of an application, particular consideration will be given to:

  • The seriousness of the problem and adequacy of the proposed program or project action
  • The capability of the organization and its personnel to achieve expected results
  • The degree of potential benefit to the community

After a review and discussion of all grant requests, the Grants Committee will present to the Foundation Board of Directors an assessment of all applications it would like considered for funding. Even though a project meets established criteria, it may not be selected because of limited funds or other reasons.

THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MAKES THE FINAL DETERMINATION ON ALL GRANT REQUESTS.

GRANT AWARDS

If a grant is to be awarded to an organization, the selected organization will be notified. At that time, the organization will be asked to grant us permission to announce the future award, the amount of which will be determined as a result of our fundraising events held principally in the first quarter of each year. Although all selected organizations will receive a financial grant, the amount may not be the full amount requested.

Recipients are required to sign a Grant Agreement Letter which details the responsibilities of the recipient organization. Grant checks will be distributed at our awards ceremony which is announced on the Home Page of our web site under Grants Process.

Grant recipients are also required to complete a Grant Accountability Report detailing how their Grant Award was spent and measured against projected goals.
