Who We Fund
The BallenIsles Charities Foundation awards grants to nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations working primarily within Northern Palm Beach County. With the goal of Making a Difference, our Foundation provides financial support to organizations in the Civic, Health & Human Services, Environment, and Education areas. Since its inception, the BallenIsles Charities Foundation, Inc. has awarded over $11.3 million to 100 organizations in Palm Beach County.
Important information about our grant process

Organizations in Northern Palm Beach County are welcome to apply each year for possible funding. Applications from organizations in other parts of Palm Beach County will only be considered if the clients that would be served are located in our geographic service area.

Grants are awarded PRIMARILY for projects or programs with specific budgets and measurement criteria. General operating expenses, personnel salaries, or overhead expenses will not be funded.

We welcome and encourage projects that have multiple sources of funding along with strong support from your organization’s Board of Directors.

Funding commitments are made on a year-to-year basis. We do not commit to fund multi-year projects or programs.

We do not offer grants to organizations whose administrative costs (including professional fundraising services and/or solicitation costs) exceed 25%.

We do not fund 501 (c) (3) organizations that are not in good standing with the IRS.

We do not provide grants for sectarian or religious purposes unless the applicant organization demonstrates that the project or program is non-denominational and open to all. Further, the project must not include religious programming or faith-based requirements for participation.

We do not award grants to national organizations unless funds are for the local chapter and the grant will benefit local residents.

We do not offer grants to 501 (c) (4) organizations.

We do not provide grants to lobby for or against legislation, or to influence public policy or elections.
Where We Fund
We invite applications from qualified not-for-profit or tax-exempt organizations dedicated to serving the residents of Palm Beach County, Florida. To be eligible, your organization must be located and actively serving people within our designated geographic area.
