Join Spring Habitat for Humanity Veteran Home Build

Royal-Family

On March 31 and April 1, 2023, BallenIsles Charities Foundation is sending teams of volunteers to Lake Worth to assist in the construction of a home for a veteran and two of her sons.

Join the BallenIsles Charities Foundation & Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Palm Beaches in helping to build a home for and with a veteran and her family on Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1.

Melissa Royal is a mother to three sons, two of whom will be sharing her home with her. She is a military veteran, having served seven years in the U.S. Army. Living near family is a priority for Melissa, and she says becoming a homeowner will allow her to do that. Before being accepted into the Habitat program, Melissa believed she might need to move out of state to find affordable  housing. Royal says the road to homeownership hasn’t been easy; she spent an entire year searching for a home. With a weight lifted off her shoulders, Royal says she feels great about being a  future homeowner. “It’s like my dream has come true. The hugest part of this is I can have my family come over. I can now have family gatherings. I don’t have to worry about moving.”

The build will take place Friday, March 31, and  Saturday, April 1, from 8-11 a.m. or 12-3 p.m. at 322 North E Street, Lake Worth, Fl. In order to register, please contact Bob Barth directly at [email protected] to receive the online registration link.

Tools, materials and detailed instruction and oversite will be provided onsite. Come dressed to work and get dirty.
